Yasmina is a registered professional clinical counselor by the Board of Behavioral Sciences in California. She earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from Alliant International University in San Francisco, California after graduating with Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from AUC. In addition, Yasmina is studying for a Play Therapy certification through UC San Diego Extension and is en route to completing to become a Registered Play therapist by the Association of Play Therapy in the US.
Yasmina has experience working with a broad spectrum of clients of various ages and diagnosis including children, adolescents, and adults who struggle with various diagnosis such as Depression, Anxiety, OCD, PTSD, Autism, ADHD, personality disorders, mood disorders, Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder, and Substance abuse/addiction in various work settings including school, community mental health organizations, and crisis rehabilitation center.
Yasmina worked as child therapist and later a school counselor in the San Francisco Bay Area for around 2 years. Yasmina conducts individual therapy with children and parent coaching sessions. She also leads family therapy sessions using attachment-based approaches and with a great focus on play therapy techniques.
Moreover, Yasmina gained experience working with adults who deal with drugs related problems and other emotional struggles, she provided her individual therapy at a Rehabilitation program in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Yasmina is passionate about serving clients from all ages including children/adolescents and their parents. Yasmina works using the client centered therapeutic approach along with integrating other eclectic therapeutic techniques (such as CBT, DBT, and mindfulness) tailored by the client’s uniqueness. She believes that the key to therapy is establishing a solid therapeutic relationship that fosters acceptance and unconditional positive regard with her client. To her, every child / individual is unique and can achieve their full potential with guidance and support.
