SALMA TAREK, MSC.

Therapist

Salma completed her MSc in Counseling and Psychotherapy at Keele University in the UK and earned her BA in Psychology at the American University in Cairo. 

 

She is also a certified group therapist from the Egyptian Association for Group Therapy and Processes. 

 

Furthermore, Salma is a member of the British Association for Counseling and Psychotherapy. 

 

Salma has practiced in multiple settings in the UK and Egypt.  She provided grief and bereavement counseling at the Douglass Macmillan Hospice and worked with victims of domestic violence at The Haven Refuge in the UK. 

 

In Cairo, she worked in private centers and trained at Abbassia Mental Health Hospital and Adel Sadek Hospital. 

 

She also has three years of experience as a high school counsellor at an international school in Cairo, where she worked with students on their anxiety, depression, interpersonal difficulties, choice of university major and self-esteem.

 

Salma offers individual therapy and group psychotherapy for adolescents and adults in English and Arabic. 

 

She adopts an integrative approach that focuses on each client’s needs and pace. 

 

She provides clients with a safe and confidential space where they feel seen, heard and supported, as they explore their identity and heal from their traumas, grief, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders, depression, body-image and interpersonal difficulties.
