Tamer holds a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from the American University in Cairo. He completed certification courses in the treatment of Clinical Trauma, Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP) for treating OCD and Anxiety Disorders, and in the management of Chronic Traumatic Shame. His certified training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) extends his capabilities to many areas of behavioral dysfunction and Personality Disorders.
Tamer also holds a BSc degree in Pharmacy as well as a graduate diploma in Learning and Development from the UK-based Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development.
During his supervised clinical training and practice, Tamer worked with a focus on post traumatic distress, anxiety, OCD, personality disorders, social and relationship issues, and difficulties with grief, romance, sexuality, body image, parental attachment, physical disability, and adjustment.
Tamer believes in clients’ innate ability to develop and grow. Using tailored therapeutic interventions, he promotes clients’ insight into their emotions and deeply held beliefs that contributed to their current hardships, taking into account previous life experiences and adversities. Being the ultimate therapy outcome, growth occurs as clients find tools to endure distress while moving towards their goals in life.
